That's where that really deep thunder comes in. Regarding frequencies below 50Hz: that's interesting because my subwoofer's frequency response goes down to 20Hz, and I've found that I actually like that part of the frequency to be boosted just a little bit.

I have my diploma in sound engineering so I have some knowledge on the subject. To set a good EQ yea you should go thru each frequency increasing and decreasing the Db of each till you are fimiliar to how they sound in the space you are listening in (this is already stated earlier in the thread) do this whilst listening to a peice of music you know pretty well, also I personally will jus kill anything below 50Hz, humans can hardly precieve this frequency and if you have a sub it can sometimes sound quite boomy in a small room, I wouldn't recommend increasing frequencies this can cause distortion in sound, I was taught to take out frequencies that appear to present and anything else is really jus down to you and your listening enviroment. In response to how to set your EQ I can give you a few pointer but the rest im not sure, you seem to have settings I dont and I also dont use winamp, jus itunes and spotify. The same can be said for all frequencies between 250 and 500Hz. This is normal, and most people leave them at the dead center (flat). Please note: you may not like 500Hz or 1k at all.

Keep repeating this process until you've done them all. Once you understand what difference it makes, adjust it to your liking and move on to the next one and do the same. When adjusting it, just start either with the far left or the far right and raise one of the frequencies all the way up. So anyway, now you have to adjust the Graphic Equalizer in either iTunes or Foobar (I have never used iTunes, and I don't remember how to find it in Foobar).
- Change that Default Format to match the sampling rate of what you are listening to.īe sure to disable EAX in Audio Creation Mode.
- Click the speaker icon at the top of this thing that pops up.
- Left-click the speaker icon in the system tray.
- Click the Settings button in Audio Creation Mode.
- So, if they are all at 44.1kHz, then make sure it matches. And be sure to set the Master Sampling Rate in Audio Creation Mode to whichever you're using for the music. But this is because you should use Bit-Matched Playback in Audio Creation Mode. Should I not use it? I'm using iTunes and Foobar2000 currently.Īctually, no. Thanks TwoCables! I'm currently using the Creative X-Fi Audio Mode EQ.
